LOGO USAGE

Official Usage of the WCA Logo (Revised July 2015)

The WCA logo serves one primary purpose — to stand as the single image that represents our association, our products and our members worldwide. It should be treated with care and respect.

The Official World Clown Association logo is a registered trademark of the World Clown Association and is protected by international copyright laws. Use of the WCA logo for affiliate, corporate, or personal use without permission is a violation of these laws.

All World Clown Association alleys, affiliations, officers, and members are entitled to use the logo provided the proper usage protocols (listed below) are followed.

Permission for others to use these items must be obtained from the WCA Treasurer.

Appropriate Use of The Logo

WCA reserves the right to require immediate changes in any usage of the logo or description of the WCA or its relationship with WCA.

Logo may not be altered in any manner other than size.

In any publication or Internet usage, you must include the following statement on the document:

“The WCA logo is a registered trademark of the World Clown Association”

Any misuse or misrepresentation of the logo could be grounds for forfeiture of usage and/ or WCA membership

Members usage:  May use on Business cards, Websites, Promotional fliers, and Booking contracts so long as one of the following statements are placed below logo: 

1)    “Member in good standing”

2)   “(Proud) Member since ________ (starting year date of member’s membership)

3)   “Covered by WCA Performer’s Insurance”

4)   “Member of the World Clown Association”

5)   Similar terms are permitted in direct association with the WCA Logo, to describe members, and/or the nature of services provided by the WCA, so long as they no way imply participation in WCA to be certification or authorization granted by WCA.

 

WCA Alley usage:  May use on Promotion of local alley activities, Alley newsletter, reports and forms, Banners and signs so long as one of the following statements are below logo

1)       “Alley in good standing”

2)      “WCA Alley since ________ (starting year date of Alley’s membership)

3)      “Member of the World Clown Association”

4)      Similar terms are permitted in direct association with the WCA Logo, to describe Alleys, and/or the nature of services provided by the WCA, so long as they no way imply participation in WCA to be certification or authorization granted by WCA.

 

Affiliate usage May use on: Informational flyers, Promotional pieces of affiliate activities, Affiliate newsletter, report, and forms, Banner and signs so long as one of these statements is placed below logo

1)    “WCA Affiliate since ________ (starting year date of Affiliate’s membership)

2)   “Affiliate of the World Clown Association”

3)   Similar terms are permitted in direct association with the WCA Logo, to describe Alleys, and/or the nature of services provided by the WCA, so long as they no way imply participation in WCA to be certification or authorization granted by WCA

 

Officials usage: May use on: Official WCA Business Communications, WCA promotional pieces, Promoting the Association.

Any promotional non-singular (more than 1) printing, publication, and mass email must be approved by the WCA Executive Committee

 

Unapproved usage of the logo or variations of it:

  • In a redundant or repetitious manner (i.e, multiple times on a document)
  • When the producer is not an authorized WCA representative
  • Clothing is not allowed (patches are available from the WCA Business Office) 
  • Stickers or seals, marketable items, packaging items, sales forms, etc.
  • On Non-WCA Official certificates or awards 
  • By Alleys, members, or affiliates who have not fulfilled current membership requirements as established by WCA. 
  • On promotional items or products or as an endorsement of a product, service, convention, workshop, etc unless permission is received in writing from the WCA Vice President
  • When WCA is not the subject. Examples include:

-          News of non-WCA-sponsored organizations or training events,

-          Non-WCA group, alley and club announcements,

-          Non-WCA newsletters, e-mails or other materials

Request for logo usage:

Any Logo usage not authorize above must be authorized by the WCA Vice President via request form.
