This convention will be full of world- class performances by former RBBB clowns, sessions by excellent educators, competitors from around the world, networking opportunities, historic surprises, and all-around FUN!THE CLOWN EVENT of 2018 you don’t want to miss!

Registration Rates:

  • $300 : At the Door for Canada and USA Members
  • $180 : Non-US and Canadian Members
  • $50 : Day Rate
  • $120 SOC ( Spouse of Clowns- includes Opening, Theme, Hospitality, Feature, Appreciation Lunch, Transportation and Banquets)

Greg DeSanto, Karen Hoyer and other Legendary clowns who have originally traveled with Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus. Karen Hoyer has also served with the Big Apple Clown Care Unit. Greg DeSanto is currently the Executive Director at the International Clown Hall of Fame.

Greg DeSanto graduated from Ringling Clown College and went on to a career with “The Greatest Show on Earth” writing, producing, directing, and starring in gags. Greg served as consultants for Feld Entertainment and directed the clown material for many editions of RBBB Circus. Besides Ringling, Greg has also performed at the White House, Big Apple Circus Clown Care, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Madison Square Garden, and other fun locales and programs all over the world. For seven seasons, Greg and his wife, Karen, were the favorite resident clowns at Circus World Museum in Baraboo, WI. Now they are Executive Directors at the International Clown Hall of Fame and Research Center:


Karen Hoyer performs, teaches, and creates work in the genres of mime, clown, puppetry, masks, and movement theater. Since 1999 she has performed in area hospitals as Dr. Dot, currently as the Chicago Supervisor of Healthy Humor, and formerly as a part of the Big Apple Circus Clown Care Unit. She also creates and performs a variety of eccentric characters for Vaudeville Chicago in area nursing homes

In addition to mime and movement workshops at colleges such as Roosevelt University, Columbia College and UIC, Karen was a faculty member of Ringling Clown College from 1991-1994 and more recently conducted their Clown College Auditions and Clown Alley workshops across the country.

Outreach events
The WCA Caring Clown Department  is planning a Humanitarian visit to the Minneapolis Veterans Home. The Theme will be Circus and we will be allowed to do a variety show as well as room visits so plan to show your stuff! Limited to first 40 sign up

The WCA Clown Ministry Department is planning two days of ministry outreach events following the convention. You can clown with others from around the world at these special presentations.

Special events
The final round of the Paradeability competitions will be held on Tuesday at 2 pm at the Mall of America followed by the Mike and Miller comedy show
Volunteers Needed

We need volunteers for the following : Pre Event set up, Registrations, Competitions, Theme Night, Banquet Night, Open Mic and others.
