Hello to All WCA Members and Friends,
My thanks for all the support and well wishes I’ve received as I’ve begun my term as
your 2010/2011 WCA President. Our Winnipeg convention in April was an
educational and entertaining event. My thanks go out to our Convention Committee
led by Molly Kleeman, our WCA Canadian Central Director, Deanna Hartmier and
of course the great clowns of the Bump-A-Nose Clown Alley. You made our
Winnipeg convention a great success. We are now ready for our next WCA
convention in New York City set for the dates of March 14 -18, 2011. We can now
start making plans to be there!!!
In Winnipeg, as I accepted the duties of your next WCA President, I expressed to
the membership in attendance my simple plan for this coming year. While in office I
will be placing emphasis on continuing to fulfill WCAs documented purpose; to
serve the needs of our individual members and our Clown Alleys and to promote the
“Art of Clowning” throughout the world.
This is a simple plan but it actually requires your input as WCA members. For
starters it’s important to have good constructive and on-going communication
between our WCA leaders, our individual members and our Clown Alleys. Hearing
from you as to how WCA can better serve your needs is essential. The second
goal, promoting the “Art of Clowning” throughout the world is best done as a team,
WCA and its members working together to promote the “Art of Clowning”.
Consider making WCA your partner in your clowning adventures. Our Board of
Directors are experienced clowns writing educational articles and requesting your
input and suggestions on various clown topics, let us hear from you. Also, consider
joining us by being a contributor to your publication “Clowning Around”. Write
articles and share your skills and talents, become an active and contributing
member of WCA. As partners in clowning WCA, you and your Alley can be positive
influences in promoting the “Art of Clowning” throughout the world.
I invite you to call or e-mail me with your interest in becoming involved. If you have
an interest in clowning WCA has an interest in meeting your needs. As your WCA
President I welcome you to become a participating member of a world class
organization, the World Clown Association.
